I am Nikitha Yelchuru, founder and designer at Paper Sweetly. I craft jewelry with paper using a special technique called ‘quilling’. Quilling, an ancient art form, involves rolling, shaping, and gluing strips of paper to create a variety of decorative designs. I discovered quilling in 2012 and bought myself a starter kit, quickly falling in love with the art. My technique is self-taught and after a few months, I began designing my own beautiful jewelry which I would wear with my outfits. Friends and family were quick to notice my designs, and after making a few custom-made pieces to give as gifts, I realized just how popular and well-received they were. Thus sparked my passion for designing and quilling jewelry, leading me to open Paper Sweetly in summer 2016!
My designs are inspired by life, music, art, symmetry and travels. All the jewelry and artwork is 100% hand-made by me at my San Jose home. My designs include earrings, hair accessories, necklaces, and wall-arts.
